An Asthmatic Christmas

Check out Asthmatic Kitty's Christmas page.

akx

It has Christmas goodies from Sufjan and others including an e-card, games, ornaments to color, videos, and 8-bit (Nintendoesque) Sufjan Christmas ring tones.

Vote!

I'm actually registering to vote for the first time ever. Sure I could have 6 years ago, but I didn't pay any attention to politics then; this is the first time that I've felt strongly enough about it to actually pay attention and vote.

I used Rock The Vote to fill out my registration form. I recommend it over the standard register to vote site. With Rock The Vote they give you the form right away while on the other site they want you to read what's practically a dissertation on who is allowed to vote (which most people already know) before you get to the form. Plus Rock The Vote lets you fill out the form online (you still have to print, sign, and mail it of course). If you click the Rock The Vote banner in my sidebar the form will pop up and you can fill it out right away.

I'm supporting Ron Paul by the way. While I have my doubts that he will make it past the primary, I'm still giving him my 1up.

In other news, I hate Blogger! I don't even know if this will publish. Wordpress.com is looking more appealing all the time. Every time I try to post a blog or update my layout I get "your blog is taking to long to publish..." and every time I have to retry repeatedly. What turns me off about Wordpress though is that I can't have "real" Wordpress because my host is my ISP and they don't support MySQL and I can't afford to pay for hosting. With hosted Wordpress.com you can't edit your css without paying to do so, I think that would really bug me. Actually with the updates Comcast is making I may want to migrate away from their hosting anyway.

I should be studying for finals.

I Should Be Finishing an English Paper

IMG_0872

Pics from Halloween Horror Nights are on Flickr.

I was going to scan in my articles from the latest issue of the paper including my Halloween Horror Nights review and my environmental article, but the size of the newspaper and the size of my scanner did really match up. I took pictures of them instead, if you click and view the large versions you can read them. (And yes, I noticed the typo, a little too late now).

Carnival of Carnage Green is the New Black

I finally got to see The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D last night, it was awesome. In a little over a week I will be seeing Beowulf in 3D and writing a review for it.

Another reason to like Ron Paul (or at least the person behind this campaign idea).

All I Have Time For

I looked on as two supposed illegals were about to be arrested by six military personnel last week. Tip: don't try to get into an air force base if you have no I.D.

Just an added bonus of taking a night class on base.

Praise God!

The doctors let Luke wake up today! His aunt Diana ("Mama D" to Luke), says he knew who they were and remembered the accident (to him it's like it happened yesterday). I don't think he can really talk yet though because he has a tracheotomy. It's such good news that they're not going to keep him so heavily sedated anymore, and it means he's healing enough to be awake! We're planning to go see him Sunday or Monday.

Good news about my mom's cousin who had the heart attack too. They took him off of the ventilator today and he's breathing on his own.

Praise God!

Only $0.00!

I saw a commercial for The New York Times "Weekender" (Friday through Sunday) subscription and was interested. I checked the website, NYTimes.com/weekender, only to find that it's not available in my area. However, it let me check other offers that are available in my area and, wow, what a deal!

That's right, I can get Saturday and Sunday for only $0.00! That's cheaper than getting Sunday alone. If I click the "details" link, it tells me that it will be $0.00 per week for the first 12 weeks and afterward return to the regular price of, you guessed it, $0.00 per week!

I'm tempted to actually sign up for it and choose to pay by mail instead of credit card and see what happens, but I don't want to go through the trouble of being harassed by the bills I'm sure they'll send anyway. Unless, of course, they sent me a bill for $0.00.

"What Are You In For?" "Oh, You Know, Being A Dancing Zombie" "Me Too!"

Ever wonder what jail is like in the Philippines?

Over 1,500 inmates at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Cebu, Philippines spend their time practicing a performance of Michael Jackson's "Thriller". Awesome.
