New WordPress theme here, come check it out and let me know what you think. I'm not settled on the header image and the colors just yet, I still have a few things going through my head.
I also added content to the articles page that had been sitting there all blank and lonely. It now has the 2 most recent issues of my college's newspaper that can be read in full.
Speaking of articles, I finished reading Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography and even already wrote my review of it. Unfortunately, it's way too long and I'm going to have to cut it down a bit.
I'm proud of myself for keeping to my goal of not procrastinating (at least for the most part, I should be studying right now though), but I'm really not doing so good on my goal of taking a photo every day.
How are your goals going?
I actually enjoyed your original layout. It was very colorful which I felt complimented your personality. This latest theme feels a bit ... sterile. I think it's the combination of the white and the big spaces between the words and letters in the titles. And from a purely color perspective, your light violet tagline gets a bit lost on top of the orange banner. Perhaps a darker version of violet or a darker other color. Perhaps red?

I totally get you on the colors, the violet will change soon and the header image probably will as well. Funny you say red, that's one of the colors I've been considering most. I liked the old theme a lot too, but I got tired of it. With this theme I feel I have a lot more flexibility as it's more of a blank slate, whereas with Cleaker (old theme) if I wanted to change one thing I would have to change a bunch of things. Plus I just like to change up the look of my site every few months anyway. I didn't notice the spacing between letter really until you mentioned it, now it's bothering me, lol. Oh well that can change too.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I joined twitter just to have it in the place where my non-descriptive description was in the sidebar. I have the opposite worry with it, that I won't give it enough attention. We'll see.
