Not yet

We didn't want to alarm anyone (well except for Becky, who received the pictures below via text with no explanation, hehe) but we spent some time in triage at the hospital yesterday.

Here's a play-by-play of my day:

Woke up earlier than usual* because my mom was coming to visit which she often does on days I have doctor's appointments so she can drive me there to meet Shawn, instead of him having to come all the way home to pick me up. Her and my aunt* got there and we soon left the house. Oliver also had a vet appointment* so we went there first.

He's the best dog ever at the vet and they all love him. I like to say he's like my grandma going to the doctor: he loves it because he gets so much attention! After waiting for what felt like forever in a very warm* exam room we found out he has an ear infection and he had to have a shot and some medicine injected into his ear. The vet said the steroid shot may make him a little hyper for a few days*, but he hasn't been too crazy. We were finished at the vet just in time to go to my doctor's appointment.

At my appointment, I found out my blood pressure was a bit high. The doctor sent us to go eat some lunch and then head over to triage for some labs and monitoring. My mom and aunt took Oliver back to the house because it would be kind of pointless for them to all wait around for a couple of hours.

After being stabbed a few times, having my BP taken about a gazillion times, and watching the baby's heart rate and my contractions (braxton hicks) on the monitors, they felt confident in letting me go home.

My blood pressure never went down, but everything else looked fine. It the other tests looked like I had pre-eclampsia I would have had to be induced, which I really don't want to do. Now I just have to take it easy and go back to triage again tomorrow to be monitored again. No blood work this time, thankfully, I don't think my arm could take it.

(Becky still brought me brownies last night after we tortured her with pictures, isn't she awesome?)

*Possible causes for my blood pressure being high
