Batten down the hatches!

Can you believe I blogged 3 days in a row? And then didn't blog for 3 days in a row? I'm sure you can believe the second one more easily than the first, but they're both true.



Crawling. Oh, crawling!
Put away your fine china and laptop cords people! Batten down the hatches! Where are the gates?! Where is that durn pack 'n play?

There's nothing like a freshly crawling baby to make you realize the house you previously thought to be an acceptable level of clean is actually, really, incredibly dirty. And what's the fascination with the rug the dog lays on? And my shoes, really?

Also, (random) why can't houses be like cars, so you can just trade yours in when you want a new one?

Excuse me while I go vacuum behind the entertainment center.

9 months brings us

Isn't he a handsome!

Nine months brought us "mama." He's kind of said "hey" for a couple of months, but when he says "mama" we're pretty sure he has the association right. Especially when he's reaching for me and saying it at the same time.



He's such a good eater now. Nine months brought us to three meals a day. Sure, he still gets distracted sometimes (don't we all?) but most of the time he eats like a champ and even feeds himself puffs
and other finger-foods. He's also been drinking from a straw, a sippy cup, and a regular cup for a couple of months.



Nine months brought us clapping. He's been working on clapping for the past week, last night he really seemed to get it and he'll clap when he sees someone else clapping.

And this morning 9 months brought us crawling! It's still crawling when he uses his feet and not his knees, right? Yes.

Add to that the $40 I found playing the laundry lottery* and today's been a great day, even with being sick.


*No, I haven't been gambling. The laundry lottery is the name I've given to finding money in the laundry.
