Deer or reindeer?
The other day I bought some new unders, you know, panties. When husband saw them he made some comment about them being Christmasy. What? These are Christmas unders?
This isn't the first time this has happened. Either I have a thing for unknowingly buying Christmas unders or husband has a thing for seeing Christmas themes in things which are not Christmas themed. I am the observant one, but on these occasions I find myself questioning my shape interpretation.
I see deer and stars, husband sees reindeer and snowflakes. I see fireworks, husband sees snowflakes. I see patterns like you'd find on a Native American/Pendleton blanket composed of tiny hearts, husband sees Christmas trees and yes, more snowflakes. If those are Christmas trees, they're upside down by the way. I bought three pair in that same print cause I liked it so much, the idea of it being Christmas theme never crossed my mind. These aren't all Christmas colored either, mind you, only 2 are red and white.
Sure, I could find theme online and see what the color/print is called and then know if they really are Christmas unders, but do I want to know? If they are Christmas unders I wouldn't feel right wearing them year-round. It's like that time when my then-boyfriend said I looked "festive" because I was wearing a red sweater. I was just a plain, solid red sweater, but every time I wore it thereafter I thought of what he said. It irked me.

Haha, that's funny everything reminds Shawn of Christmas. I don't mind Christmas year 'round.... it IS the most wonderful time of the year! But then again... I guess having it year round would make it less special. Don't let someone else's view of something ruin how you feel about it!
ReplyDeleteIt would definitely be less special year round. Maybe they are Christmas unders though, I mean all of the pairs in question were bought this time of year. I'm second guessing myself now.
