A year or so ago I learned to crochet. I thought it would be one of those things I would try to do for a while and then get stuck on and not be able to get any better, like piano playing (oh the years wasted!). Turns out this is more like cooking, something I enjoy doing that I'm pretty good at.
First, I just learned how to make squares that go into blankets for charity. Then I made two scarfs and even a stuffed hippo! Still need to finish the hippo, actually.
And now this:

Yes, I made the baby too (with a bit of help), but I'm talking about the hat here. Oh, you didn't notice the hat because of the overwhelming cuteness of the baby? I understand completely.
It's not quite done yet, I'm going to add some dinosaur spikes onto the top that match the green edging, but I think it turned out really well for my first hat.
I'm so glad I can do this. Today I thought, "maybe crochet is my thang! Maybe that's my talent!" Haha, what a talent to have!
My new obsession with Pinterest really feeds this hobby. I have so many ideas pinned for new projects and I really feel confident that I can do them. Confidence is not something that comes easy for me.
Husband has even agreed to let me make him a hat!
I'll even make you a hat! Twenty dolla please! Oh, I kid, I kid. But really, you want to pay me for a hat, don't you? Don't you?
