Movies I'm ashamed to admit I've never seen

We all have them. "Everyone" has seen them, they're critically acclaimed, they appear on countless "bests" lists, yet they cause us to sink down in our seat when they're mentioned because (don't tell anyone!) we've never seen them.

Here's my list. It also includes movies that I may have seen at a young age but don't recall enough to say for sure, and movies I've attempted but never seen all the way through.

2001 - A Space Odyssey
Amelie
Apocalypse Now
Apollo 13
The Blair Witch Project
Braveheart
The Bridge on the River Kwai
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Die Hard
Doctor Zhivago
Gandhi
Gladiator
The Good, the Bad & the Ugly
The Grapes of Wrath
The Green Mile
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
The Last of the Mohicans
Lawrence of Arabia
Master and Commander
Omen
Planet of the Apes
Pulp Fiction
Rebel Without a Cause
Requiem for a Dream
Saving Private Ryan
The Shawshank Redemption
Singin' in the Rain
Sophie's Choice
Taxi Driver
This Is Spinal Tap
Trainspotting

I'm sure there's more as well. I'm working on it, though now that I'm putting my Netflix account on hold for a while there's probably going to be a lot less progress.

So what movie(s) are you ashamed to admit you haven't seen?

  1. I have more movies that I am embarrased that I have seen (Mummy 2, anything with Steven Segal, Kevin Costner's Robin Hood).

I am a fim buff so there are a few movies I am embarrased I haven't seen: Clockwork Orange, Dr Zivago, and Raging Bull.

  2. 2001 A Space Oddyssey was totally not worth the 3 hrs. it takes to watch it. I don't know what Kubrick was on, but I felt like I wasted 3 hrs. of life.

  5. I've only seen 3 movies on your list.

Don't feel too bad about it.

  6. Okay, I don't feel so bad about it now. Especially since Brian, who calls himself a film buff hasn't seen a Clockwork Orange and I have ;) Just teasing. I had to watch that one for a film survey class, I liked it, my morals didn't. One woman in the class walked out, I think she got to watch 2001 instead.
